Do you feel that no matter how hard you try you never seem to be able to stick to that diet. You go a few days then your body just craves the food that you know you shouldn't eat. Can it really be possible to program yourself so that losing weight is an easy process. Sub-conscious conditioning. 1. Set yourself a goal of how much you want to lose and how long it will take. "Proper Planning Prevents Poor Perfoirmance" When you set a plan and give yourself a timescale of when you want to achieve your plan you are empowering your brain to come up with the answers. Rather than hoping things will work out have that expectation that this time you will become your ideal weight. When you have that total confidence that you will succeed, you are sending a different message to your sub-conscious than if you hope things will work out. The difference in results is amazing. 2. Mentally see yourself at your Ideal Weight. Visualisation techniques is what great athletes, politicans, and business leaders use every day. By seeing yourself at your ideal weight everyday you will find you get there much faster. When you take the time each day and mantally visualise yourself how you would like to be, you are re-conditioning your sub-conscious mind to bring you closer to that goal. Many people who go on a diet don't really believe they will lose the weight they want to lose because they have tried so many times before and have failed. Close you eyes and actually be there in your mind. See what you look like, what you are saying to yourself and how you feel. Make it as real as you can and keep doing it over and over each day. The more clearer you are the more natural it will be in your mind to take you there. 3. Believe in Yourself. When you expect something to happen you have a far better chance of it turning out the way you want it to be. Whether you believe you can or you believe you can't do something, you are exactly right. You must believe in yourself if you want to succeed at anything: Losing weight is no different. Remember "The Past Does Not Equal The Future" It dosen't matter how many times you've tried to lose weight. It dosent matter what others think about your latest attempt at losing weight. As long as you start believing in yourself then your actions will become more positive and you will achieve your goal. 4.Reward yourself for Success When you are on a program for losing weight, try to reward yourself on a weekly basis for the success you have during that week. This reward can be a treat that you eat or something you buy yourself. Psychologically this creates pleasure and the sub-conscious mind is biologically designed to steer you in the direction of pleasurable feelings. Therefore you are showing you're sub-conscious that by steering you in the direction of you weight loss goal you are giving it the pleasure of achieving each weekly goal. Change these rewards each week and you will look forward to the next reward. 5.Don't be hard on yourself As human beings it is our nature to make mistakes, to feel sorry for ourselves, to beat ourself up when things don't go according to plan. When you have a bad day and things haven't went as planned, don't be to hard on yourself. Tomorrow is another day were you can get back on track. We learn from making mistakes and failures. In fact the greatest successes of our time our the people who have failed the most times. Thomas Edison said "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work" By mentally preparing yourself for permanent weight loss each day you are setting yourself up for success each day. Weight loss dosen't have to be hard. You actually can enjoy the process as you watch those excess pounds come off. About the Author Robert Herdman is a certified Clinical and 5-Path Hypnotherapist with a private Practise in Ireland.
